At the entrance to Porreres opens the Plaça del Molí de n’Amengual, presided over by the sober silhouette of the Molí de n’Amengual windmill. A few metres away, a waterwheel evokes the age-old relationship between the farmers, the land and water, recalling the labour of an agricultural past. But the square is also a lively, present-day space: it has a children’s play area that fills the spot with laughter and movement. On festival days, it transforms into a meeting point with music, stalls and activities that bring the community together. Today, the square is a place that blends memory and everyday life, uniting generations who share it between the echoes of the past and the enjoyment of the present.
