The Plaça de la Vila is one of the most emblematic spots in Porreres and is regarded as the village’s main square. Home to the Town Hall and most of the village’s bars and restaurants, it also hosts the weekly market every Tuesday. During the summer months, the square comes alive with the night market, known as the Mercat d’Estiu. The square is also the natural gathering point for locals and visitors alike during the Sant Roc festivities and the various fairs held throughout the year. In late 2008, improvement and beautification works were carried out on the Plaça de la Vila, with the main aim of prioritising pedestrian mobility, reorganising parking and repaving both the square and the Avinguda del Bisbe Campins with cobblestones.
