Parish Church of Nostra Senyora de la Consolació - The "cathedral" of the part forana
The Parish Church of Nostra Senyora de la Consolació, begun in 1666, is one of the most monumental religious buildings in the Pla de Mallorca. Of impressive proportions, with a single nave, side chapels and a basilica floor plan, it is distinguished by its soaring vault and its Gothic choir stalls — an exceptional piece among the island’s churches. Among its most remarkable spaces, the Capella del Roser stands out, with its octagonal floor plan and a lantern tower decorated with scenes from the Rosary, alongside the side portal and the organ. The sacristy preserves outstanding works of sacred art, including a 15th-century processional cross, a medieval silver casket, reliquaries, a 19th-century monstrance and a remarkable collection of embroideries. Outside, the bell tower reinforces the majestic presence of a building rightfully known as the “cathedral of the part forana”.
