L’Hospitalet is a small church on Carrer de l’Hospital, considered the birthplace of the parish of Porreres. Its origins are linked to a 15th-century hospice, founded to shelter the poor through charitable donations. Initially consisting of a house and an oratory, it gradually lost its welfare function and became a purely religious space; by the 17th century it was even used as a meeting place for the municipal council. The church is modest in scale, with a single nave featuring a barrel vault, a sacristy with a ribbed vault and a altarpiece of the Holy Christ at the high altar. In 1879 it underwent structural and aesthetic improvements. Today the oratory remains closed for most of the year, opening only during Holy Week, when it houses the Holy Christ figure for the traditional processions.
